if you upgrade a fiery dragon sword with a icy sword hilt, does the fire turn blue?

No.

You can't actually apply the upgrade, so no.
And no, if you dye it blue it does not turn blue.

Fiery Dragon Swords have the Fiery mod built in. Can't be changed. No adding ANY hilt to it. Dyes effect the dragon head (green looks cool imo).

Yeah, otherwise you'd be able to have... like a vamparic dragon blade or something.

There are a couple of weapons like this with built in mods that can not be changed. The fiery gladius. The icy blade axe. The fiery blade axe.

oooo but other swords, you can change the mod tho right?

ex u put on shocking and you wanted icy. you put it on and it works?

Yes other swords you can upgrade/change the mod.
